Sleek, modern, and compact with new technology—that was my first impression of PointMax™ I/O. The first thing I wanted to try was the Near Field Communication (NFC) feature, because it’s the first Rockwell Automation product with this capability.
How does PointMax™ I/O make day-to-day work easier or more efficient?
PointMax™ I/O brings NFC to the Ethernet adapter—so you can set the IP address and register the product in a single mobile app (DeviceTools). NFC also surfaces real-time adapter status (including faults) and gives one-tap access to Knowledgebase articles and product documentation. In practice, this saves time and makes commissioning faster and simpler.
What kind of flexibility does PointMax™ I/O offer when designing or scaling a system?
PointMax™ I/O delivers more in less space. With higher-density modules and a smaller footprint than 1734 Point I/O, you can fit more I/O in compact panels and free up valuable space for your design. It’s smarter, streamlined, and built to make scaling easier.
How do you see PointMax™ I/O helping customers prepare for the future of industrial automation?
Troubleshooting gets easier with PointMax™ I/O. Using the DeviceTools mobile app, you can quickly look up issues in the Knowledgebase and access product documentation on the spot. And because PointMax™ I/O supports Removal and Insertion Under Power (RIUP), you can replace an I/O module without shutting down the system—minimizing disruption and keeping production moving.
